Dr. Emmanuel Ibituase Akinwumi is a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Secretary and Administrator, Banker, Entrepreneur and International Development Expert with distinguished career spanning almost four decades in three continents – Africa, Europe and North America, was the immediate past Principal Private Sector Specialist/ Head of Portfolio Management of the African Development Bank Group, Nigeria Country Office, with a portfolio of up to USD2.8 billion under management during his tenure of office. In addition to various global professional certifications such as ACA (Nigeria); AMP, CGA, CPA (Canada); ACIS (UK), PMP (USA), he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Hons) from University of Ife (now OAU), Master’s degree in Economics from University of Lagos, and PhD in Business Administration (honoris causa) from Prowess University, Delaware, USA. Currently the Chairman and CEO of Financing and Partnerships Africa Ltd, specializing in resource mobilization for the development of Sub-Saharan Africa, his investment, interests and board positions spans through Financial Services, Agribusiness, Housing Development, Fintech, Hospitality, Social Development Advocacy and Philanthropy. He served meritoriously as Group Finance Manager of Modandola Group of Companies Nigeria, AGM/Head of Audit & Systems of Federal Mortgage Finance Ltd, Financial Controller of Continental Holdings (UK), Financial Controller & Company Secretary of Kibo Match Group Tanzania, CEO of Data-Line Management Group Canada, among others.  

He was privileged to undertake economic development and financial consulting work for the African Development Bank and others in South Africa (Eskom Holdings, Nedbank Group, DBSA, Industrial Development Corporation); Botswana (National Development Bank); Cameroon (MTN Communications); Egypt (Afreximbank);  Ghana (CAL Bank); Libya (All Africa Investment Holdings); Nigeria (UBA, Zenith Bank, GTBank etc); Uganda (East African Development Bank); Tunisia (AfDB HQ) and Zambia (Development Bank of Zambia)..

Emmanuel, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, is passionate about Africa’s development and renaissance. A passionate jobs creator, sustainable business driver and community development lover, he served as President, Board of Director or Trustee member of a number of companies and community development associations including the President, AfDB Nigeria Staff Cooperative Society; Treasurer/Board of Trustee Member, Nigeria Canadian Chamber of Commerce; member, Canadian Council On Africa; Advisory Committee member of Helios Investment Partners, UK; Alt.
